Candy Man

Sketch 42 for the Papertake Weekly Challenge

The cute little snowman and pattern papers are from a digi kit called Candy Man Ultimate Kit from Paper Creator.  I cut out the scalloped card base and saying with my Silhouette Cameo.  Printed the papers and image, then cut out the background layer and border with my paper cutter and the circular shapes with Spellbinders Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large dies.  Added some Studio G glitter glue for the snow.

Scruffy Bear Card

My official start date for the Paper Creator's design team isn't until Jan 1st, but I wanted to use some of their fabulous kits to make my holiday cards and thought I would share them with you. This sweet little bear is from a kit called Scruffy Santa Bear.  I printed the papers, saying and bear image, then cut out the pieces with these punches and dies:  My Favorite Things Blueprints Die #14, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scallop Squares Large, Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Squares Small, EK Success Circle punches in 1" and 1 1/8" sizes.  Also used Neenah cardstock, ribbon and roll on dot adhesive.

Happy Howlidays Easel Card

This holiday card is for my neighbor.  She has a little 9 pound white dog who is best friends with my mini poodle (who is a white and apricot mix).  I found this darling digi image over at the Crafty Paws website in November 2014.  So glad I saved it as it's the perfect image to use for this card.   I colored the image with Copics, then added gold metallic ink to the bell and puff paint to the trim on the Santa outfit.   (I did make one change to the digi image, I added the horizon line to give it  dimension. ) The Easel card and layers were all cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilies dies.  Added a ribbon and red star button attached with twine.  I'm sure she will smile when she gets this one.

Happy Holidays Snowflake Card

I designed this card in Silhouette Studio DE using a snowflake cut file and a snowflake pattern print file.  Both files are from the Silhouette store.  Also used a scalloped card base cut file from The Cutting Cafe.  I created the inside shapes and filled them with solid blue for the bottom layer and the blue snowflake pattern for the top layer.  Added the saying with the text function to a blue layer then cut out all the pieces with my Cameo.  I also cut out three extra layers of white cardstock the same size as the blue snowflake layer and glued them all together to give the card a bit of dimension without using pop dots.  Added a gemstone to the snowflake center to give it a bit of sparkle.

Prim Poppy

My card was inspired by this card by Heiki. I used the basic design with the image layer and flower, but added a different background by using My Favorite Things Dienamics dies for the scalloped layer and the black stitched rectangle layer.  The script stamp is called long writing background by Hero Arts and the die is called Prim Poppy by Memory Box.  I colored the flower with Memento markers.

Flip Swing Puppy Card for my neighbor

Here's the Christmas version of the flip/swing card I made 2 weeks ago for my neighbor.  This pup looks just like her little white dog.  She plans to send this to her sister for Christmas.  Sorry the photo isn't very good.  I just finished the card and only had a few minutes to snap a pic before I met with her.  I used a Sizzix die for the card base, Spellbinders Nestabilities dies for the squares, Whimsy dies for the photo corners and a Quikutz die for the puppy.

My second project is a pair of shrink plastic earrings made with the
I was inspired by Karen Day's shrink plastic earrings and used the
Witch Spinner Dies to cut out the shape from black shrink plastic.

Die cutting machine
Black shrink plastic
1 1/4" eye pins
Ear wires
Emory board
Toaster oven
1/8" Hole punch

Tools as shown in photo below

Place dies on shiny side of black shrink plastic and run through die cutting machine.  Punch holes in top.  Sand edges with emory board.  Preheat toaster oven to 275 (Or whatever temperature your brand of shrink plastic lists on the instructions)  Place die cuts shiny side up on cardboard and place in toaster oven.  Bake for 5 or 6 minutes until curling stops and pieces are flat.  Take out of toaster oven and let them cool.  Attach beads on eye pins.  Attach eye pin to ear wires or clip ons.  Attach bottom piece to shrink plastic piece and bend wire to form a loop and press to close.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

The next stop on the hop is Diane's blog.
